Wishful Wednesdays

Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... Santa would have remembered... Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses. I really wanted a pair, but it is understandable, who thinks of sunglasses in the winter?!? I have a huge fashion crush on Taylor Jacobson from the Rachel Zoe Project (well, not RZP anymore) and every time she wears them (or her loubs, channel bags and motorcycle jackets) I think I need them too...desperately.

The Winter Classic

Aren't you freezing looking at it?

A few months ago (it was hot out), I agreed to go to the Winter Classic at Fenway. It seemed really fun at the time. For you non-Boston peeps, this is where the Bruins will play hockey in the baseball park (read: OUTSIDE) on New Years Day. It is the first time it has happened here. I think every hockey loving guy/gal on the East Coast is trying to get tix. Me, on the other hand, wants to give my seat away and watch it from the warmth of a bar or my couch. I just looked at the weather and it is going to be COLD COLD COLD (read: FREEZZZZZZZING). On the radio, today, they were talking about how the seats are going to be really bad since the ice rink is going to be in the middle of the field and not really close to any of the seats that people are paying big bucks for. So, everyone gets to see, basically, nothing. I thought, crap, how did I get out of this now? I have to go, so my only challenge is what to wear. I think I am going head to toe ski wear (that never gets used cause i am bad skier). Humph.

Hey, you look familiar??

Randomly, on Xmas morning, Ruby's gate broke. I had another one hidden under my couch as a back up cause ya just never know. Ruby still needs a gate, so she wont go into me bedroom and eat all my shoes while i am in the shower or not paying attention (if I shut the bedroom door she will whine until the point that you think you may go mental; if she can see in then it is all good). So, I opened up the gate packaging and went to throw the cardboard out and noticed a girl with really blonde hair so I was like, oooh, I like her color and looked closer and it was one of my besties on it. Hysterical, because it is so random to see someone you know when you least expect it. So of course, I took a pic...

No clue who the baby is, but he/she is cute.
Nora, that looks very natural... lol!

Ruby watching me put the gate up.

In other news, I went to see Nine on Saturday and I loved it. I thought everyone did an amazing job. The clothes, hair and performance numbers were awesome. Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz were my two favs, but really everyone did awesome.

Secrets of Aspen

While watching Tough Love (and my super secret crush... Steve Ward.), I saw the preview for this show. It looks super cheesy, so it should be really fun to watch.

Waiting for the snow

Boston is currently waiting for the big snow storm that has hit the rest of the east coast and all I can think about is footwear. Normally, I can get by with my Hunters, but it has been so cold that I feel like my toes are going to crack off from being so cold. So today I went out got these cute little Sorrel boots at the Tannery. They are actually real cute in person and more comfortable than any other sneaker or boot I have ever owned. Also, the best thing is that I am not going to bust my butt when walking the dog since they have some traction on the bottoms.

SlutCracker

Last night a couple of us girls got together to see the Slutcracker. Yes, the name you are reading is correct. I was skeptical at first too, but it was actually great. The basics: a whole play set to the music of the Nutcracker, but this one is based on Clara having a sexual awakening after getting engaged on Christmas Eve. It wasn't raunchy at all, since comedy makes everything a little more comfortable. There was a lot ballet, belly and some pole dancing, but it was all set in a burlesque fashion (lots of pasties). It was actually a real great way to spend a girls night. There was a lot of laughs and the audience was encouraged to show their appreciation by being clapping, hollering and laughing. All of us, instead of being shocked, were amazed by how real it was. When I mean real, not the whole sex thing, but how real women were represented. For instance, not all the girls had perfect ten bodies. Some girls were thin, some were average size and some were heavy (and some were boys or transgender). It made us happy to see everyone was represented and how proud these women were dancing around and not ashamed at all of their bodies. Also, this show made me realize how cool some of my friends are. Instead of having a conversation about how these were women were not perfect, they were all so proud of them. Sometimes, women can hate on themselves and hate on other women, but when girls give respect to other women putting themselves out there it is just really nice.

It Has Been 5 Years...I Can't Believe It.

Time goes by so fast, but I still miss you and think of you everyday.

Lately I've been running on faith
What else can a poor boy do?
But my world will be right
When love comes over you
Lately I've been talking in my sleep
I can't imagine what I'd have to say
Except my world will be right
When love comes back your way
I've always been
One to take each and every day
Seems like by now
I'd find a love who cares just for me
Then we'd go running on faith
All of our dreams would come trueA
nd our world will be right
When love comes over me and you
Then we'd go running on faith
All of our dreams would come true
And our world will be right
When love comes over me and you
When love comes over you

This Picture Makes Me Laugh... Do you know why?

Photo from people.com

Because Audrina is NYC shopping in that outfit. Look closely at the people behind her. What is different??? She is sleeveless and all of us East Coasters know that you don't go out without sleeves in late November or early December even if you are wearing a furry vest and and an ugly gray hat. Also, to be honest, I may be bitter with her because I read in US Weekly that she was 'cozying' up to Puck at the US Weekly party (see post below). Noooooo.

Hello Puck

This is why I love Wednesday nights...

I have a such a school girl crush on him. I find my self just smiling stupidly at him while watching Glee.
This week has been hellish at work (actually the last few weeks... ho hum. year end. whatcha gonna do?). I actually don't mind being swamped because I feel I thrive off of chaos. The only bad thing is I have been to pooped to write or think about writing, so I will be doing little tidbits for the next few days, just to keep some momentum going. I am looking forward to Friday night. Me+Glass of Wine = Reading Blogs and Commenting.

Rings

I can't even take credit for finding this because it came in my Daily Candy email, but check these fun rings out (here). I love love love this one... kind of because it looks like Ruby.
