Weekend Adventures

Back to life.... So hard to come home and deal with the snow. I hid away in Vermont for the weekend which didn't get as much snow as Boston did. We left on Thursday and got up to Sugarbush on the late side. We unpacked and then had a few guests over for some drinks. After they left, even though it was late, we decided to celebrate bf's birthday.  At 1:30 am he opened presents, we (read me) tried to set them up etc and at 3 it was time to go to bed. Way past my bedtime, but it so hard to just go to sleep when you get up there at 11:30ish, plus I was excited to celebrate with bf.
Friday, we obviously got a late start. I sent bf to ski with his friends. I went out for just a bit, but gave up after a few hours. Got sidetracked by going in the shopping area and then got stuck on a lift for ten mins. I was done. E! seemed more appealing. That night, we had an awesome bday dinner at the Common Man which I just think is the most perfect apres skiing restaurant. I love it there. I got a little sidetracked by the two people sitting next to us. We couldn't determine if it was a blind date or if it was a first weekend away (that wasn't going so hot).  Both people were on their phones incessantly, not talking to each other. Finally, after a few drinks they decided to take pics. Not together, but more like, "hey, take a pic of me at the table." it was all very weird, but entertaining. They split the bill and left and my entertainment was gone.
Saturday was a lazy day of reading, tv, movies and shopping. We went on a small hike/walk in the afternoon which was great. it was so bright out with all the snow. It was also super icy. As we went to head down a small hill which bf tried warn me away since it may be too icy. Thinking that was silly, I preceeded to head down and fall on my ass and elbow (As I was saying "No way, we will be fine"). Couldn't stop laughing (through the pain tears) because it was such perfect timing.  Sunday, we got up on and out the mtn. bf  boarded with me and made me go on a black diamond trail. My first ever. I was pretty much against it, but glad i tried. This weekend I improved a lot... Still falling, but starting to get it and able to get down a longer portion of the mountain turning etc instead of stopping cause of nerves. I think it helps when I have company cause I tend to get more nervous going solo.

So, yes, now it is back to reality and dreading dealing with this... my car.

I love trying to figure out what date people are on, But the downside is when I know people are trying to figure out what date I am on!
