Motorcycle Boots

Ever since I read InStyle a few weeks ago, I have been in search of Motorcycle Boots, like Cameron's above. They were her own and vintage, according to the mag. I have been on-line and scouring vintage stores in Boston. On Sunday, I almost thought I hit the jackpot when I went to Bobby from Boston (a cool little thrift store in my hood). They were perfect, in great condition and cheap ($65), but they were a 9 1/2. So, no jackpot for me.

I love these Jimmy Choo boots below, but they are $1050 and I can't buy them without feeling guilty and sick. Maybe I can put on the Xmas present wish list.... Just a thought.

Weekend Randomness

On Friday, I ran into my favorite door beggar. I was walking Ruby about 9pm and as I was walking past Walgreen's I see her straight ahead, walking towards me. She doesn't notice me. So, I said "Hey, Teresa, remember me?" She stares for a second and is like oh, yea, I owe you some money... excuse excuse excuse. She was so screwed up on drugs that I immediately let her know that I was aware of her lying to me so she could buy drugs and that I wasn't stupid. I also told her if she bothered me again, I would call the cops on her. I told her to not to come by apt ever again, even to pay me back, because I didn't want the money back if it meant that she would stay away from and leave me alone. She agreed, she cried and I felt bad, but she was so drugged up I am sure this was her way of making me feel bad for her. I do kind of feel bad, because I feel bad for anyone that has such a sad life. I cry almost every time I watch Intervention and sometimes seeing these people around my city makes me want to help them, but as I know, you can't really do anything.

On Saturday, I went to Louis Boston for their annual 50% off sale. I didn't find too much, but got this cute little dress. They opened a restaurant upstairs called Sam's and it was actually very good with an awesome harbor view.

My dress is navy/white plaid and is the softest cotton.

On Sunday, I went to the
SoWa market in my neighborhood and bought my very first piece of art... It is the floral bouquet painting on canvas and it is pretty big. It is gorgeous and I felt like such a grown-up bringing it home yesterday.

Stella and Dot

Last night I drove up to Marblehead after work because one of my friends threw a jewelery party for Stella and Dot. This stuff is super cute and pretty affordable for what you get. I found the above necklace on the S&D stylist and immediately was like is that for sale and took it from her. I loved it... and I ordered so I should have it soon (no immediate gratification). I was telling another friend about it, but wasn't able to show her the pic because the S&D website is down for maintenance (according to FB they are putting up the fall line). I found this pic online and was just dying because it is says how to wear necklaces if you are too busty. I am the furthest thing from busty, so I hope it doesn't try and trim that area down anymore than it already is.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sliding into Home

This is pretty embarrassing, but I kind of want to read Kendra's Bio. I have been reading excerpts and it is kind funny. She goes into detail about her Girls Next Door days and I always really wanted to know how it all went out down. Like, were they really girlfriends? Did they really have to to do the nasty with him (gag)? What about all the other girls? Did they all really get along?

I am pretty much a bio freak and will read about anybody's life. Maybe that is why like blogs so much.

Sucker? That's me. This girl right here.

I am such a sucker. Last night I got home from work/errands and was doing some laundry and I heard a knock on my door. This is uncommon because 1) I wasn't expecting anyone 2) I live in the city and people don't just come by and knock or stop over without calling. My apt is a little different than typical apartments because I live in a brownstone, under the stair well and have a private entrance. Ruby, my pup, starts going crazy and I am like oh crap what is it. Nstar has been working on some power issues outside my apartment, so part of me thought it may be that they need to look at my meter or something, who knows. Nope, that wasn't it because there was a larger lady with tattoos carrying a shopping bag standing there on the other side of glass door asking me a question. I have a cast iron gate that normally blocks my entrance to my front door, but since my hands were full I didn't lock. Anyway, Ruby is going crazy, I can't hear her, but I can't open the door because what if she is crazy? It is a possibility.

Lady, who calls her self "Teresa", "Hi, I live across the street at 38 S----."
Me "Yea, why are you in my entrance (I have never seen her before)?"
Teresa "I live across the street and was wondering if you could help me out. My insurance coverage has expired and my son has an ear infection and I have no cash. I work at Boston Medical as a greeter. I am legit (she doesn't look too legit and wreaks of cigs). My husband is a Boston Fire Fighter, but he at work and I don't have any money to get my prescription filled. Oh blah blah. I see you all the time walking your dog (mumbles to Ruby)."
Me "Ummm. ok. What do you need (I am kind of nervous, just want her to go away. Wondering if someone is standing on the stair well behind her... and I really want her to go away)?"
Teresa "50/60 dollars"
Me "What? I don't carry cash in my apt (i.e. don't rob me), but let me see what I have. I may have 10 bucks. (I am an idiot, I am idiot, but I feel bad, what if her son is really sick, what if I am on one of those What Would You Do shows? I am freaked and I really want her to go)."
I go back into my living room and get the cash I have in my bag. 10 dollars.
address)?
Me "Here, all I have is this. I don't ever carry cash, sorry. I hope your son feels better. What is your name and address again?"
Teresa gives me all of her info, supposedly.
Teresa "I will pay you back tomorrow promise before 8:30am. I will slip it under the door, if you aren't home. I appreciate it. You don't have any change do you?"
Me "No, nothing - I am poor, so I hope you keep your word (plsssssss dont rob me)."

She walks away saying I have pretty blonde hair or something.

I am an ass. How could I have done that? I think I was so in shock that I just wanted her to go. At the end of the day, it was only 10 dollars and if she has enough balls to come to my door to beg, she probably needs it more than I do. I promptly locked my gate and kept it locked for the remainder of the night anytime I left or was in the apt. I hope I word doesn't get around in my neighborhood that I am hand out central.

I really love rompers, but I don't own any yet. I typically hate shorts, but since they are in now and rompers kind of look like dresses, I may have to make a purchase.

Also, the other night I was watching this show called Downtown Girls and one of the girls had on overalls. They were super cute on her (side note: she was a super negative zero). Anyway, I have heard/read that they are making a come back. I still have nightmares of what my ass looked like in them in 10 to 15 years ago (oh my god, do you remember leaving the one clip undone ala Marky Mark? Sorry, if you are not old enough to get that). Not sure how it can get any better. Despite the horror, I used to love them and probably could love them all over again....

Vienna and Jake

What is up with all the madness?

I watched the interview with Vienna and Jake. It was so sad and annoying. I actually never liked Vienna, but after watching her have a complete breakdown, I felt pretty sad for her. I think Jake is very manipulative and sick, so I can see her point. He is a fame whore.
He totally would have tried to sell the "I am good guy, just look at this smile" side of the story. Could he have made anymore Zoolander faces while she was talking? Even though Vienna did interrupt him every time he spoke, I could understand why she didn't want him to talk - he wasn't going to be able to say anything that made a difference. He was just acting like a 5 year old. It is like being in a relationship when someone is crazy on the other side. Poor lady.

I have also been watching, here and there, The Bachelorette. No major opinions on it except, these guys are BORING. I do like the guy from the Cape, but I think more for myself and less for her. Also, they really need to give these people acting lessons, so Ali can express more emotion than just the sad face. The puppy dog eyes last night totally started to bug me.

Boston Med

Have any of you seen it? I am obsessed. Not only cause it shows all these shots of Boston, but the stories are so good and real. Like, real-real, reality tv. Although, every time I watch it, I feel like I am going to start balling at any minute. It is one of the shows that you could watch for 3 hours straight because it is so riveting.

This is the description from the ABC page.
Boston Med picks up where the Peabody Award-winning Hopkins left off, going even deeper into the lives of caregivers and the cutting edge medical cases they confront inside the walls of America's top hospitals. In this original eight-hour series, the unforgettable stories of doctors, nurses and patients are adeptly woven to give each hour the pace and intensity of a drama. Whether it's the young resident in crisis doubting that she's good enough to become a Harvard-trained doctor, or the deployed soldier's pregnant wife praying for a miracle surgery to save her baby, Boston Med is sure to touch your heart. Filmed over four months at Massachusetts General, Brigham and Women's, and Children's Hospital Boston, this powerfully real series breaks new ground in the documentary landscape. Meet the charismatic Hollywood producer before either he or the filmmakers realize that, through a twist of fate, his face will be transplanted onto a Vietnam veteran badly scarred in an accident. The second face transplant performed in this country and the first anywhere to be so extensively filmed, this operation involved two dozen surgeons and up to a hundred additional doctors and nurses. It's a stunning example of both the high caliber medicine and the unprecedented and unique access captured by the filmmakers in Boston Med.

Here is the link, if you would like to go and watch. ABC has full episodes, so if you are bored at work and need to kill 40mins - HERE YA GO.
