Polo - Governor's Island.

While everyone else was watching Prince Harry fall of his horse, we were partaking in the over flowing champagne. The Polo event was a lot of fun, but so so so hot. Veuve Cliqout was easier to get than water. Bottles of it. No problem. Drunk? Here, have another bottle. While, fun it made for a sloppy day. Not just because of champagne, but because there was no food being served and that everyone was just pouring sweat. I would do it all over again - heat and everything.

Highlights.
Seeing (and talking to)Rob Thomas while his wife was in line to go to the loo.
The outfits. What I love about NYC is that even the guys had fun outfits on. In Boston, we may have gotten a navy blazer and maybe, just maybe, some Nantucket reds.
The girls, of course were amazing and the hats were great.
Prince Harry and Nacho.
The commentator that sounded like Russel Brand. I am still not sure if it was him or not.
The ferry ride back with all the drunks (ourselves included).
The Boom Boom Room after, from what I recall, was fun.
Look at this hat... she made it! True Talent!!

Girls Weekend - Key Biscayne Style

We had our 3 annual KB girls weekend last week, hence, my severe lack of blogging. This year it was only 3 of us, but we had enough fun for 5 (believe me!), which is how it all started. 5 people the first year, 4 the second year and 3 this year... I hope it isn't 2 next year and goes back up to 4 (not 5). The best thing about it is that we all come from different places. I live in Boston, Nora in Cali and Tiff in NYC, but we still made it happen.
The weather was hot hot hot, so we did a lot of sitting in the pool and a whole lot of drinking frozen concoctions.
Miami was very very very good to us. The restaurants were awesome and the drinks great. The first night started off with a bang. Since we were all arriving we just stayed at the hotel and got over served. At around 1ish we decided we wanted to swim, but the gates were all locked. So what would some proper 30 years old do? Jump the fence and swim... It was nice and worth it and no one drowned, so that is a +!
So what else, we had dinner at STK one night. Highly recommend the tuna tartar and Kobe sliders. Service was amazing and it was a good scene. Afterwards, we went upstairs to Plunge, the rooftop pool bar, at the Gansevort and hung out with some guy that had his leg bitten off by a great white. Seriously. We also went to this amazingly beautiful restaurant called Casa Tua. It was so beautiful and the service, again, was amazing. Afterwards, we headed off to the Delano's Florida Room for a little dancing.
For shopping, we hit our favorite vintage store, Fly Boutique. I found my whole outfit for Polo next weekend, including a hat, which at first, I was totally against wearing.
All in all, we had an amazing time. I was very fortunate to see good friends, meet new fun friends and get some sun (minus the dumb sun rash/poisoning thing I got going on now).

Some clips of our fabulous time!

Getting peeps drunk in the pool... believe us there were a lot more.

communal dining table at Casa Tua... just gorgeous.

Our annual Ritz flower pic take 1dancing at the Florida Room.

Dirty Room. Clean it Up.

By no means, am I complete neat freak, but I don't like everything out and around. I totally have messy bed, messy head symptoms if things aren't at least a little neat and clean. Anyway, the reason I am bringing this up is because I have been apt hunting and sometimes I just die at the pics. For instance, did these people think this was a selling point??? I would be afraid to live in there after someone that dirty resided in it before.

Dear Realtors, even the ones that rent to college students, you should not take this pic if it is this bad. Dear Tenants, Gross... Really Gross. Clean your apt. Eww. How did you sleep in that?

SATC

I went to see SATC last night despite all the bad reviews that I heard. The thing is, I kind of liked it.... a lot. I thought some of it was pretty funny and entertaining, even if it was a little campy. The fashion was meh... I didn't love it this time. I thought they were trying too hard, if that makes sense. The last time I was so into all the outfits and shoes (Loubs everywhere)...This time, nothing really stood out as an "OMG, I need to have that now. Who needs to pay rent when you can have shoes?"

So takeaways:

Fashion was ok, not great. My comment "Seriously, she is shopping in a gown (bottom), in Abu Dhabi?, C'mon..."
Aiden just needs to stay away. He totally creeps me out.
I still want to live in Carrie's old apartment. Every time I see it I want to re-do my own apt and paint it light blue.
Love Big. Always will.
I think a 2 day break a week in a marriage, relationship is an Awesome Idea... Sign me up for that.

Lance, get out of my head...

I caught this commercial the other night and thought it was hysterical. I think over use of emoticons is annoying when anyone uses them over and over, but even worse when a guy uses them. Nothing seems more un-manly, then a reply of LOL, ;-)....

Glee Season Finale

I am little sad that the season is over, but I am very excited for the season finale. I hate that all the shows end at the same time. What else can one watch now? Jillian Michaels screaming at overweight people? The worst part is the DVR will be empty all summer. Onto summer reading...

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Last week I bought my ticket for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governor's Island in NYC. I am super excited about this. How does this sound for a perfect day? Friends, champagne, big hats, cute outfits, NYC on a Sunday, celeb watching .... and oh these two.

Kate Spade Gift Ideas

I was sorta late buying a present for a wedding that I attended over a month ago. I was having a hard time coming up with something because I like to put some thought into present buying, but this time I was coming up blank. Today, I thought of something. The bride/groom, now wife (let's face it, she most likely picked this stuff out), had registered at a few places, but unfortunately they didn't register for too many things so everything was taken besides the little stuff. I did notice she registered for some Kate Spade plates/bowls, so I thought maybe KS would have a few more options with platters etc. I always think they come in handy when entertaining, but you don't usually don't buy them for yourself. The dip bowl I bought is above.

I also love all these little ideas too for any kind of occasion whether it be a wedding, birthday or housewarming gift. If interested in anything you see here, link here.

Messy Pixie

Most people (read: men) think women look better with longer hair, but after seeing this cute little cut on Michelle Williams, I disagree. This pixie cut is gorgeous on her. It kind of reminds me of Sienna Miller's short cut which I also loved. I would love to do this one day to my own hair, but I fear that I would look like a boy (or an old lady) and my hair would never grow back. I think you have to be a cute little thing to pull this off...
