Memorial Day

Shh... I have a little secret that I am going to share with you. I don't like traveling on Memorial Day weekend. I like staying home and hanging local. I guess, when it is nice out here there is a lot to do. We have awesome beaches, north and south, that take about an hour to get to. The other thing is that everyone leaves and the city becomes kind of calm. You can walk into a restaurant at 8:30 and sit, you can park a car on the street (city people know what I mean) and most importantly there are amazing sales everywhere. All the little boutiques have some major discounted stuff and no one is town so it is just you getting all the goods. I think my most favorite thing about Memorial Day is having Monday off, so Sunday happy hour is much more pleasant without the whole work thing hanging over your head.

How many people are going to see SATC this weekend or were you a die hard that went last night (eek)? I think I am going to hold out a few days until the chaos settles down. Hopefully, no one will leak or spoil it for me.

Love, Bob

Awhile ago I was in Austin (for ACL) and went to see this guy Bob Schneider at a local bar/club and fell in love. I have been kind of fortunate that he comes to Boston once in awhile to perform (see me) and I have been able to see him closer to home. Anytime I am in funk or just feel like listening to something kind of chill, I listen to my boyfriend Bob. I find him so entertaining and hot. I always liked that dirty rocker kind of a guy, but have never dated that type. As I said to one of my friends before, "Kid Rock, I would date him." Maybe not, but I like to dream.... it is my little upstate NYness that comes out in me once awhile.

Give Bob a chance, you will like him too. Just a little warning, he doesn't have the cleanest vocabulary, so if you are sensitive to some words, he may not be your cup of tea.

Live like you were dying

This is not meant to be a morbid post, but when I woke up today that "Live Like You Are Dying" song came on by that little American Idol boy (one show that i don't watch...surprise surprise) and there was some line about if your plane was crashing who would you call? And sadly, I was like wait... I have no one to call. Well, I have a people, but I am not sure who I would pick. I know for most of you that would be an easy choice: Mom, Dad, Husband, Wife, Life Partner, Child, Sister and/or Brother. I don't really have parents, kind of a single child nor a husband, so they are all out. I have lots of friends, so I would want to talk to them all. Hopefully, I would be able to figure out my iPhone to conference call all of them. If you had to really think about who would be your last person to talk to? It is such a hard choice.

Vitamins - Random Thoughts

Is it wrong that I treat my gummy vitamins as candy? I think they are better than gummy bears.

When I was little, I used to eat all the green Tums out of the jar too. I didn't know what they were for, just that they tasted good. Today, I can barley eat one cause I feel like I am eating chalk.

My Summer Fun Song.... Summerboy by Lady Gaga

How can you go wrong with a lyrics like...

Sometimes, you might start a fight
But Im happy pretending we're alright (alright)
Sun glasses, cover up my green eyes
My martini glistens, yeah
While checking out other guys
Summer boy

Gossip Girl

Wow, I am at 89 followers? Really? I know that is little compared to some of you have hundreds or even thousands, but I honestly didn't think I would have any one reading this little blog, minus a few girlfriends that I gave the address to with the one rule.... You can't judge. If I get to a hundred, we are definitely going to do a give away.

Anyway, lets get down to business. Did anyone watch Gossip Girl last night? Well, if you have it stuck on DVR or Tivo, I won't ruin it for you, but here are my observations.

1) So sad - season finale next week. Wait what? Didn't it just come back on?
2) Dan has a lot of chest hair. Is chest hair trying to make a come back?
3)Serena's dresses or skirts have gotten A LOT shorter. I think they are shirts or tube tops at this point pulled down to make it look like a dress. But, hell, if I had that body (and I was 22), I would be wearing the same thing.
4) Chuck Bass, I am still in love, but I do like it more when you are being a man whore. A whole lot more entertaining which means you get a lot more Bassisms.
5) Someone needs to rip out Jenny's hair extensions. They are a little nasty and ratty. BTW, I didn't get that whole Lady Godiva look last night.
6) Lastly, speaking of Jenny...email to Lil' Laur last night.....
Kelly to Lauren show details 10:01 PM (10 hours ago)
random - gossip girl.when did jenny humphrey get that rack?
Lauren to me show details 10:09 PM (10 hours ago)
Ha I just noticed that! In the black dress at the end. She must havehad a boob job

Sugar Shack Girls

Who has been the absentee blogger? Oh, that would be me. Things have been a little crazy, but everything is all good. Last weekend was my birthday and I was out and about all weekend drinking/eating/drinking (I need to upload pics). Work has been crazy, so I have had little desire to do anything but veg when I get out of there and surprisingly it has been super nice out so any free time I do get has been taken up with enjoying the nice hot weather.
I got a nice surprise coming today. See, those pretty girls to the left? They are all my old roommates. No one really lives in Boston anymore, but they are all (minus Meg in the middle since she lives in Austin) are hoofing it from NYC to Boston this weekend. We have all been friends since we were in our early twenties. It is impossible to get us all in one place at the same time.
Backstory on us: I met them off of Boston.com (way back then there was no Craigslist) when I was like 22. I was desperately looking for a place to live and I answered the ad. I showed up one night at 8pm to be interviewed as the possible 5th to live illegally in their apt. When I showed up they were all drunk. I was greeted with a bottle of wine and was in love with them all ever since.
