He needs a filter, yes.

I am going to John Mayer tomorrow night and even though he can't control his brain to mouth output process he puts on a good show. I think he is just totally caught up with himself and wants to be this creative, smart and philosophical person, but in reality he just comes out sounding like complete a-hole. To his credit, it is kind of clever on his part that if he didn't say or do stupid things, about what we all are curious about anyway, he would just be a guy that sang about Jennifer Love Hewitt's body back in Two Thousand and Two. I do find him a pretty entertaining performer (minus the weird mouth/head tick thing (you would totally understand if you saw him live)... see, it may be a problem!)

One of may favorite John Mayer songs... Weird mouth thing about 50 seconds in and for the remainder of the song. enjoy.

White House Black Market

I love new stores. White House Black Market recently opened up downstairs from my office. I had never been in one before, but have seen the catalog a few times. I had never bought anything out of it cause in my mind you just never know. Not like Jcrew where you can automatically tell how the fabric is going to feel and how it is going to fit etc. Anyway, it took me awhile to go in, but last week I decided to go take a peak and see what it was all about. I picked a very good day. They were having a huge sale. They have a lot of work basics and it isn't expensive at all (for what you get).

My top purchase was this which I thought was a complete score cause it was $159 marked down to $59. It doesn't look or feel like a $59 jacket at all. I like that is versatile enough to wear out and can be made fancy or casual.

The Dorothy Cut

I have seen a lot of Dorothy Hamill lately because of the Olympics. It has been bringing back bad memories of when my mom took my long blonde locks and chopped them into the Dorothy style wedge. If you are a child of the 80s, you must have had this too. I recall, my friend Lori and I having the exact same wedge (bowl) haircuts in the 1st or 2nd grade. I also recall that this is why I had to get my ears pierced... "Your little boy is so cute."

We are the World

I just caught in on VH1 and I have to say I am not impressed. I wanted to like it, but I just didn't. I guess, because, I remember the original and how excited it made me. I was six and Michael Jackson in it, so of course I was very excited.

Valentine Day Surprise

This helped me have a better day...

Last night, CD and I went to Teatro for some dinner and he handed me his Saks gift card that he got from points off of his Saks credit card. He was like Happy Valentines Day, you can go buy yourself something, but pick me up some Keihl's shaving cream (he is on the Keihl's kick too). I said, "Wow, you are so romantic." Little did I know, that this was already in the works... so it was a nice surprise. Makes my office smell so much nicer. Of course, my mood went from blah blah to happy. Flowers do that for me especially when they are just because flowers and not the old I'm sorry flowers.

JCrew Private Sale.

I am a little obsessed with Kiehl's products (I will try almost everything), but I tend to stay with what I am familiar with when it comes to the face cleansers and creams, however, the Keihl's lady suggested I try these two items. It only has been a few days, but my skin looks and feels so smooth. When I got out of the shower this morning, I actually thought that my skin looked a little sparkly. They must put some glitter in it or something to make you shimmery.
So, if you are loooking for some new face stuff to liven up your dry wintery skin - I highly suggest these two items.

Random tidbit... if you sign up to be a member of Kiehl's you can get free samples. Link [here].

"Journey" Please stop using it!

Why can't reality tv people (I am talking to you Jake and every other Bachelor and/or contestants) use another word but JOURNEY? It is the most over used word on the show... You could make a drinking game of it.

Last night, there were a lot of awkward moments on the show. The whole grandmother thing with Allie was pretty uncomfortable. I just wanted to yell drop it every time she brought it up. Also, I have decided that Jake is a bonafide weirdo. This usually happens every time I watch it. I initially think that they are somewhat hot, but then they do so many awful and annoying things that I totally think they are gross. Not sure if it is his constant crying, the way he stares uncomfortably at all of them or his personal space problem.

If you are watching, what do you think is going to happen? Who is he going to pick? After last night's Jake TEAR FEST, I think he is going to cut all of them and have the producers bring back Allie... so it can be the MOST DRAMATIC ROSE CEREMONY YET...(right).

Time to shut the TV off.

Like almost everyone else, I watched the Superbowl last night. I decided to not go to any parties because I have been fighting some weird cold thing that makes me very very tired every other hour. I knew I wasn't going to really be into watching either (boo no Pats this year), so I bought some books at Barnes & Noble on Saturday to prepare for 3+ hours of football.

I was inspired by MCW's post @ Saving the Best for Last (read here) about her favorite books and decided to go book shopping.

I got these 3 below (plus the new US Weekly, with the Bachelor secrets.... Save your $3.59. There are no real secrets. Basically, it just talks about how Vienna is trash. Go figure.)

One Fifth Avenue

The Devil in the White City
Skinnygirl Dish (she has some really cool recipe ideas).

I dream about you all the time

I have been thinking a lot of the past and the things that I have been fortunate to experience and the things that I have lost and now miss. I think because something has been on my mind so much, I keep having dreams about it. Some mornings I am happy cause it is a good dream and it feels real and back to normal, but then I get sad cause I realize it is, well, just sad. I wish you could take some things back once in awhile or have a do-over at any point. I need a dream therapist pronto!
