Holy case of the Monday's

Thank god it is a short week (see still trying to be thankful).

While I was getting ready this morning, my hair blow dryer broke. Note, I think this is something that each girl should have two of... always. What do you do when it is 40 degrees outside and you have soaking wet hair? Thank god I did a major chop, so it wasn't ll wet hanging down my back... I tried to get ready as much as I could to let it air dry and then bundled myself up and walked to Walgreens. It was closed. Huh? Isn't it 24 hours? So, I turned around and started to walk to CVS...which was open, but all the hairdryers are locked in a glass case so someone, I guess, can't go all Oceans 13 and steal a Revlon blow dryer. Seriously. That took about another 20 minutes. My hair was almost dry when I got back home or frozen, so i just had to thaw it out. I was still early for work, not sure how that happened...

Isn't funny how something so trivial can you set you off on the wrong foot?

Thankful

I am going to start the holiday a bit early and express the things that I am very thankful for. It could be that I watched Grey's tonight and they had a holiday episode already, but it made me think of all the things that I should be thankful for. Feel free to tag this and do the same.

  • I am loved by someone.
  • I have fun experiences and enjoy my life as much as I can.
  • I have amazing friendships that aren't only friendships they are familyships.
  • I have Ruby. I wanted something like this for so long, and walking in the door and having unconditional love everyday is a great feeling.
  • I have a job, that kicks my butt some days, but I really respect and like the people I work and truly enjoy working with them.
  • I live in a great city and get to experience the best things about it.
  • Long walks after work (with Ruby) in my neighborhood.
  • Having a nice (& warm... I hate cold) apartment and thoughtful and nice neighbors.
  • I am my own person and no longer make excuses for it (finally, catching up with my age).
  • My bloggy friends. I wish I knew you all more. You make my days with your posts!

So, what are you thankful for?

Staycation

We are having a staycation this weekend. The dog is going to a friends in the 'burbs while we check into the Ritz to do some shopping, spa'ing at Sports Club LA and relaxing. The weather is supposed to be kind of stinky, so it may be the perfect time to hunker down in the spa and get room service. It is kind of funny to check into a hotel 5 minutes away from your own apt, but it is so much fun to act like a tourist in your own city. A responsibility free Saturday sounds perfect to me! 10lbs before Christmas... Is it possible?

I am on a mission to loose weight before Christmas. 10lbs, ok maybe 15lbs, but I would be happy with 10...for now. I am trying to work out more, but I could use some extra help. The thing is, I already do work out regularly, but I go out to eat a lot - working out use to counterbalance it, but now that I am in my 30s it doesn't help me out that much anymore. It is so true, adults were right telling me at 23, you can eat all that now (pizza/fries), but when you are over 30, you will say bah-bye to the stuff. I can easily gain or loose 5lbs back and forth in a week. I will do quick fixes, but I will not fast. I will always eat (cheese and crackers or just anything with cheese... my downfall). So anyway, yesterday, I went to buy the EasyTone Reeboks. Yes, the advertising has gotten to me. I figured these could be walking the dog sneakers and embarrassingly, shh... today is my first day using Sensa. It actually doesn't taste like anything, but I feel like I am in hiding putting it on my food. We will see how this all goes! If I haven't lost anything by Christmas, I will ask for Santa to bring me lipo.

Circle, Circle and Slap.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good and busy. On Friday night I went up to Marblehead for a surprise birthday party for my friend Sal. It was so much fun because she actually was surprised and I got to see all the girls that I never get to see all at once anymore (need to work on that more)... My main topic, after a few wines, was trying to figure out ways to work out when you can't get to the gym. I started discussing the OnDemand Fitness TV and how they have all these dance videos. In the last couple of weeks, I have learned two Beyonce videos and the Slap. The Slap is in reference to the Carmen Electra Striptease videos, but in reality it is just walking around in circles and smacking yourself. So, I had to show everyone how to do the dance... It may not give you a good workout, but it definitely can be addicting and funny to watch people trying to do the Slap (think of an uncordinated Pussycat Doll). The funny thing is that I am not the only one who is aware of all these videos. All this time I thought it was my little secret... but seems like everyone else has started following them too.
Do you have any secret workout vices?

I just found a video on YouTube... Enjoy! HA!

Reaction to the Bumble Bee Costume

The wings are kind of deformed cause she wouldn't stop biting them.

She kind of hated me for this... but it was super cute. I went to take a pic and recorded by accident.... Listen to her reaction below.

Did I Miss Something?

I caught up on DVR the other day.
Warning: Ok, Ok, I know these are going to be dumb because it isn't real anymore (or ever), but on the Hills, I have a few questions/issues. Maybe I missed something??

1) Stacie the Bartender: How did she become friends with Kristin and why is Stephanie Pratt friends with her? I am confused MTV. I don't think it is normal for the "home wrecker" to be come friends with your sister in law.
2) I think Jayde is annoying as all heck, but I think she has a point. Hanging with your ex all day, doesn't seem like a good move especially if your girlfriend throws you an surprise birthday party.
3)Who can drink a whole bottle of Jager and still speak? Scary.
4)Whatever Stephanie Pratt is doing to herself, she should stop. now.
5)Umm. I think Justin Bobby is kind of cute this season. Did I just say that?
6)Holly needs to go to Rehab? Cause she had drinks...at a party? Kind of what you do at a party, no?

Market @ the W

The W is finally opening in Boston, which is kind of cool because I have always liked the W's I have visited in NYC. Last night, I stopped by to check it out and had amazing dinner at Market. The food was really really good, portions were perfect, drinks were great and service was awesome.... and it actually has a good scene, which can be tough for a Monday night in Boston. I had the baked parmesan crusted chicken and truffled mashed potatoes. I don't even care how much butter was in my food... it was so good.
