South Beach Weekend
We had a great mini vacation in Miami this weekend. The weather was awesome, high 80's everyday, so we were able to spend a lot of time on the beach drinking margaritas and mojitos. One thing we didn't realize... it was Winter Music Conference weekend and our nice relaxing hotel, The National was converted into a club: The Remix Hotel for the weekend. House and Techno from 11 to 11 each day. Umm, yea. I was hoping for more Jack Johnson and G. Love, but we acclimated and after awhile it didn't bother us... that much. Highlight: The people watching was outstanding.
Heidi and Luke came down to SB as well, so we all went to Table Eight for dinner on Friday and Bond Street for some sushi on Saturday (also, to celebrate Heidi's bday). We also hit the Delano and Shore Club for some drinks along the way.
I am already counting down the days until I get to go back... next trip: June with the KB crew.

Poor Matt Lauer

I heart Matt Lauer... He is in my top 5. I always have, don't ask.
I was so sad for Matt when I heard he had a bike accident and was hurt when he hit a deer. Everyone keeps asking, how did that happen? A deer? Well, I am not sure how many of you know this, but I had a deer incident once too.
A few summers ago I was staying in Nantucket at a friends house. Every morning, everyone would take jogs etc on this nice little wooded path behind the houses. I never tend to like to really run or work-out much on "vacations", but for some reason this morning I motivated. When I left, my friend just got back from her run and was saying how nice it was (she wouldn't run with me cause I cant go far enough, fast enough or I chat too much). So I left on my lonesome.
About a quarter a mile down the path, something darted out in front of me and I stopped. I started walking towards it (around the bend) and when I got to the other side, I was standing face to face with a deer. It made a noise that didn't sound so good, so I started walking backwards... and then it came after me. I took off toward a house, but I was like scooby doo -- running and not going anywhere... I ran up to a house, but completely wiped out in their driveway. It was awful, totally skinned my knees and was bleeding all over the place. No deer anywhere to be found. I hobbled home a mess. I walked in the door (I think I was gone 15mins tops) all bloody and upset. Everyone was like what happened???? Me: I got chased by a deer. Them: Hysterical Laughter... Are you still drunk?
So, Matt, I can relate. Call me.

Herve Leger
Tonight, I caught Real Housewives of NY (from last week) and Bethanney was having lunch with LuAnn and was wearing the best tan Herve Leger dress. Now, I want one more than ever. I found this gunmetal beauty, on Netapoter. I want it, need it... now! Does this look good on normal girls or do you need to be be a supermodel to pull it off?

That Amy Smart, who is here shooting an ABC pilot formerly named “See Kate Run,” is doing her best to win over Boston fans. Yesterday, as Suffolk University student Mike Giannattasio and his buds ran into Amy exiting her trailer parked by the Public Garden, the actress flat-out refused to stop and snap a photo with her local admirers. “No, not right now,” Smart snarled. “I’m too busy.” See Mike Run away from her!
Strange, cause I can't even recall the last movie she has been in.

Friday Funday & Boutique(s) of the Week
CD picked me up after my tests on Friday (took day off) and we decided to have a late lunch in the North End along with celebratory drinks for me passing my tests. In addition to hitting some (many) of the North End wine, cheese and oysters establishments that the neighborhood has to offer, we did some shopping at InJeanius (two new tee's and a pair of flops), and A Matter of Face for some new make-up and products. I can't get over how amazing this store is. I will now by all my products here going forward. Paula was amazing. I got the dewy, fresh look by just some moisturizer, bronzer, shimmer and some gloss. I can't replicate it, but I got all the products she suggested and will keep on trying. Plus, she hosts parties... Champers, make-up and your besties = book me a party!
It was a perfect Friday. Even though I was taking a vacation day to takes tests, the rest of the time felt like I was truly on vacation. Everyone deserves a Friday like this once in awhile.
Also, a big TU to CD for making a "It's a Kelly Day" for me. I appreciate it.

Running in Heels
So I have a little new TV addiction, Running in Heels on the Style Network.
Basically, it's about 3 interns vying for a spot at Marie Claire mag. What to expect? Bitchiness, talking behind each other backs (and to their faces) and tons of whining. The big plus: Nina Garcia is a part of the cast as she has just taken over Fashion Director at the mag.
I think it plays about twenty times a day, so you should be able to catch up on all of the episodes quickly (i think there have been 3 to date).

Finally... Sleep
"Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride. Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh-no I got to keep on moving Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride, I'm running and I won't touch ground Oh-no, I got to keep on moving"
My Theme Song of the Day.
Much better today. Yesterday made a turn - and everything got better. A- on mid-term, so class was good and it ended at 7:30pm. CD came to pick me up from school and we were able to grab a quick bite at Stephi's on Tremont. Love it! Get home, power was still out so I left and went to Seaport and finally was able to get some sleep. Get home this morning and power is back on (my whole street is on generators). Plus, it is going to be 60 today. I am happy.

One more thing! Although lugging my crap the gym to shower this morning sucked... Equinox has the best hair dryers. I think my hair was dry in less than 2 mins. I need to get myself one.

Stress + Aggravation = Mean Kelly
For starters, I am testing out of 3 classes this week, so I can graduate on time. Keep in mind, I do work a busy full-time job, have two other classes and try to make time for everyone in my life. It isn't easy, but I think it will all be worth it come May 1 when I am done with school for awhile. Looking forward to not having as much stress. Also, looking forward to finding ways to occupy my new found time. So, everything went ahead and fell apart last night, which makes me to want to throw in the towel in oh so many ways.
My whole street looses power at 10:30pm, while I am studying/writing a paper. Nstar said it will be fixed in 30mins. It wasn't fixed when I got up this morning and had to take myself to the gym to shower and get ready - which made me late for work. Also, apparently I have some alarm system in my apt that decided to go off at midnight until 6am cause of the power outage. I didn't know my code until I heard from my landlord at 6am. So, I think maybe I got 30 mins tops last night of sleep and will be in class until 9 tonight... which I will need to come home an do more homework & studying. Now, let's top it off... CD and I get in a huge fight cause my power goes out and he can't understand why I am aggravated. In his buzzed state he offers suggestions of what the issue is while all along i am trying to tell him the issue. Doesn't get it, i loose patience and fight erupts. I yell, cry, get mad, frustrated (all overtiredness) and cancel next weekend and possibly cancel the relationship as well. All from a power outage fight. Incredible.
How does everything bad happen in one day? Apparently, I don't get a pass for being overtired, irritable and stressed. I get called out on it. I deal with it with from everyone else, but when it is me....no. I am going to isolate myself until Friday. No more drama, please?!?

The Bad Girls Club
Ok, I have a recap on my previous post (Yes, I caught up on DVR). I am so embarrassed for Whitney (the Boston bad girl). She was so wrong and when she says that is the way we do it Boston. Who is we?!? Disgusting foul mouth girl beaters? She should be ashamed of herself... and never equate her evilness being a trait with that of being a Boston girl. No, we don't all have the bad accents, are nasty and beat up other females. Most of us are educated and classy females.
I read that she was bartending at Felt... and I can't understand why they would allow her to represent their bar. LOOSER! Seriously, could she be any more proud of herself? Ashame on you Whitney.
Go Tiff for coming to your senses... I knew I liked you at the beginning for a reason.

So they finally confirmed they are doing their intimate show at the Somerville theater.

So tired
I got home tonight and was so tired so I caught up on DVR. First, Bad Girls Club. They were in Mexico and the fab 5 (who aren't all that fab) were drunk and picking on the Amber's. I find this show so annoying, but I can't stop watching it. How do these girls go on with their lives after this show when they are sloppy drunks, slutty, 2nd rate strippers, fighters, chain smokers and potty mouths! I am confused. These girls think they are so hot, but they aren't. Is it just me? The only one I kind of like is the Amber M (the one that loves gummy bears). I find her cute and funny. BUT she got a beat down by all the girls and the end of the show... Is this fake? I feel so bad for her. Ok, I am being pathetic cause I am tired and analyzing why people would do this type of reality tv.
Next up was Millionaire Matchmaker. I am in love with Patty. I think she is friggen hilarious. I want to her be my mother.
Ok - nothing really interesting to report. I am headed out with the chickies tomorrow for dinner in Charlestown. My fabulous Miss T is town this weekend... Good times will of course follow. I am charging the camera now!

Thirsty Thursday
CD and I had date night last night. It was much needed night out because I have been balls to the wall with school stuff (finally finished those mid-term papers) and somebody has been really bugging me a lot, so I basically I needed some fun times to get my mind off of things. We ended up going to Persephone for dinner, drinks and shopping. 3 of my favorite things to do all in one space. The food was great - I highly recommend the fries (appetizer) and the scallops. While having martinis you can shop too (dangerous!). I picked up a cute little tank dress by Alexander Wang for Miami.
